Bananas are a household favorite — versatile, sweet, and loaded with nutrients. But they have one big flaw: they ripen and spoil way too fast. That got me thinking… what would happen if I vacuum-sealed bananas to preserve their freshness?

So, I put it to the test. The results? Unexpected and super insightful! Whether you’re meal prepping, reducing waste, or just curious, here’s what I discovered.


🧪 The Experiment Setup:

I used three groups of bananas:

  • One bunch left at room temperature (the control group)

  • One bunch stored in the fridge

  • One bunch vacuum-sealed in a food-safe bag, then refrigerated

Each was observed over the course of 7 days.


🍌 Day-by-Day Breakdown:

🟡 Day 1–2:

All bananas looked normal. No visible change. The vacuum-sealed ones looked a bit more “compressed,” but otherwise fine.
