Classic Beef Spaghetti Pie

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 bell pepper, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Cook spaghetti until al dente; drain and return to pot.

  3. Mix in butter, Parmesan, and eggs, then press into a greased 9-inch pie plate to form a crust.

  4. Brown beef with onion and bell pepper in a skillet. Drain excess fat.

  5. Add garlic, cook 1 minute, then stir in tomato sauce, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.

  6. Spread beef mixture over spaghetti crust, top with mozzarella.

  7. Bake 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly. Let cool slightly before slicing.

Variations & Tips

  • Lighter option: Swap beef for ground turkey.

  • Extra veggies: Add mushrooms or zucchini to the sauce.

  • Cheesy upgrade: Mix ricotta into the spaghetti crust.

  • Spice it up: Add red pepper flakes for heat.

  • Kid-friendly: Blend the sauce to hide veggies.
